Here are the steps I take leading up to the issue:ġ. ![]() If I create another custom content type and associate this with my library I encounter an issue. It works perfectly fine at this stage, resolving the input and saving it into the column. I can create a new document using this custom content type and input information into the external data column by inserting a quick part into my document. The external data column pulls through one additional field. I then created an external data column on this library and checked the 'add to all content types' option and it is added successfully to my custom content type. ![]() I have created custom site content type (with no special fields in particular) and added this to a new document library.
